AI28: Fatbike Rental

Fatbike: cool, fat and playful! Fatbikes are relatively ordinary mountain bikes without suspension shocks fitted with extremely oversized wheels. The tyres are often up to 5″, hence the name fatbike. With such wide wheels, cycling is now possible year-round including on snow in winter.

Fatbiking is catching on fast in Alta, and your hosts are the first company in Alta to have the pleasure of offering both short and long guided fatbike trips and also fatbike rental.

If you are familiar with the local area or are keen to try on your own, you have the option of renting a fatbike from us. We offer rental of Nakamura Big Bob 6.0 fatbikes. This is a wonderful and light bike with a carbon frame and full Shimano XT specs.

This experience will put a smile on your face as you race through the frozen and snow-covered winter landscape along the many dog sledding trails in the Alta Valley. As one of Alta’s fatbike enthusiasts said: “This is one of the coolest and most enjoyable things you can do with your clothes on!” In the winter darkness, the bright light from your head torch will add an extra dimension to the adventure!

The rental rate and deposit covers rental of the fatbike per day. Additional gear (e.g. helmets, shoes etc.) may be rented at an additional charge.
